Until now, there have been strict limits placed on this material in terms of its application possibilities. The reason for this? Simply the extreme hardness and high weight of the material.
LIXOS® natural stone veneers have revolutionised these application possibilities. Particularly suitable for decoration in places where every gramme counts, such as in yacht and aeroplane construction, LIXOS® natural stone veneers are the first and only choice in the world that provide a high-quality and long-lasting interior and exterior design with stone.
LIXOS® has the perfect solution for every application. Lightweight support structures made from aluminium, wood or paper can be used for ceilings, walls, facades and floors. Available in fire safety classes A2 and B1. Additional finish options, such as gold leaf for example, and the select choice of materials make LIXOS® Natural Stone Veneers unique in their optics, haptics and design options. They also offer a guaranteed high product quality as they are entirely “Made in Germany”.
LIXOS ® RSC Technology
A world first: Stone as easily malleable as paper
One of the ground-breaking possibilities that LIXOS® RSC Technology offers, is that it can be used to apply LIXOS® Natural Stone Veneers to concave or convex curved surfaces. The result is objects that are as light as a feather but look like solid stones. The use with a wide variety of base materials complies with the highest requirements in terms of stability, fire safety, attenuation and function, such as with a rear ventilation of the facade or the heatability of ceilings, walls or floor elements.
An overview of the facts and features of LIXOS® Natural Stone Veneers:
- Three-dimensionally malleable, thanks to the LIXOS® RSV 3D Technology
- Original stone surfaces with thicknesses of approx. 0.6 – 2 mm
- Can be used with a variety of base materials
- Varnished and sanded surface
- Polished stone surfaces
- Very small radii possible without the optical effect of the product being affected
- Net stone weight per square metre: approx. 1.7 kg/m2 (in comparison, a 1 cm thick stone is 35 times heavier: 60 kg/m2)
- Compressive and tensile load strength: 5 kN with a test square of 2.5 cm2
- Fire safety class A2 or B1
